Con una serenata de varios mariachis y artistas se dio en el atrio de la Basílica de Baños el homenaje por los 50 años de la coronación de la Madre de Dios, así mismo ayer domingo se realizo una misa con invitados especiales, en donde Fieles y religiosos de diferentes partes del país asistieron a la Basílica de la Virgen de Agua Santa, con actos litúrgicos, conmemorativos de la coronación de la imagen, que recordaron varias generaciones.
5.000 personas aproximadamente presididos por el Sr. Obispo de Quito, Mons. Raúl Vela, 6 Obispos , 20 sacerdotes, exaltaron a María impulsadora misionera. Autoridades del cantón y de la provincia como el Sr. Prefecto, Alcalde, y más se dieron cita a esta importante celebración la muchedumbre era extraordinario.
Se recapituló los hechos de hace 50 años atrás, también se leyó el mensaje del Papa Benedicto XVI; la presencia con sus ofrendas de las diversas comunidades del cantón Baños llamo la atención así como gente del Oriente. Fue un día memorable. Que nadie se perdió.
